Descriptions of the epitomes Empty Descriptions of the epitomes

Ok, warning: This will be a long-ish note. It gives a lot more detail as to the appearance and info of the four epitomes.

WHAT IS AN EPITOME?: If you're a Gunny, you're likely asking this. Short answer: It's a Kara-universe-only term for the four heads of the seasonal courts in Changeling: The Lost. Your charries won't know the specific politics of how changelings work anyway, but I'll post the basics here as a general note/reminder for the Glammies. There are four courts (Summer, Fall, Winter, Spring). At any given point, the season that is going on matches the court that currently is in power. The court in power controls meetings and politics for the time being, and they switch when the seasons do. Currently it's within the week before midsummer, which means Summer is in power.
*Summer dismisses Spring as frivolous, has a fierce rivalry with Winter, and hates Autumn almost as much but plays a bit more diplomatically with them since they inherit power next.

BASIC STATS
SUMMER. Name: Frieka. Name on human documents: Frieka Alexa Candra. Birth name: As of yet unconfirmed. Height: 5'8''. Apparent Age: Late thirties (when beauty traditionally declines). Seeming: Fairest…Only she isn’t, is she? Ethnicity: Swedish, grew up in America. Description: If a woman were only her features, Frieka would be beautiful. Think high cheekbones, full lips, hour glass figure… Supermodel-perfect body. However, she’s less than the sum of her parts. She doesn’t talk about the specifics with most, but it’s common knowledge she was cursed—It’s evident every time a frog slimes it way up her throat and erupts past those pretty dark lips. And that isn’t the only effect of said curse, either… she obviously suffers from a deeper malaise, which makes her whole body appear decidedly –wet- around the edges. Her washed-out blond hair looks the slightest bit slimy even when styled and her eyes are dark with lack of sleep and fey with her own caprice. Around the edges she seems just a little bit, well… moist, not that any of her handmaidens would ever dare to tell her THAT. In addition to the obviously physical handicaps, Lady Summer also has a certain mental inconsistency which conflicts to her visceral desire to be pretty. She’ll often forget even basic hygiene for days and then realize all of a sudden that her hair is in hanks or that she should wash her face—often after a frog episode—and end up reacting to her own self-loathing violently, either by physically striking others in her presence or ordering them not to look at her. The lack of care does not extend to her wardrobe, as she has a full fashion consultant to handle outfits for her, though the clothes themselves may be as unwashed as she is. She tends to favor outfits in solid colours or basic patterns, fashionably cut but never “cutesy or frilly”, with few accessories except those inherent in her own body. The central impression most experience from meeting Frieka is combined revulsion and desire, since her obvious assets do make themselves apparent. Even in one conversation a sideways movement into light could make her cross the line from gorgeous to disgusting, and even when she seems the latter she uses her body well to ensnare onlookers. Her presence is high and her bearing is very deliberate. She makes a lot of movements, consciously, sure to use every aspect and lure available in the tool of her body to offset the stability of mind she lacks. Ultimately her inability to keep her own body of many signs of her sliding ability to maintain power…

AUTUMN. Name: Grids Kepter. Name on human documents: n/a—He has none. Birth name: As of yet unconfirmed. Height: 5'9''. Apparent Age: Mid to late twenties. Seeming: Ogre. Ethnicity: Unknown; Generally darker features, possibly South American or Romany blood in him. Sort of a general exotic looking mix. Grew up in America. Description: Looking at Kepter is like seeing dark over more dark. His eyes, hair, and skin seem to bleed together into a dusky-coffee and black theme, which isn’t offset by his gorilla-like bearing. That said, he’s ATTRACTIVE in a way most people don’t really view gorillas—He oozes with a sort of alpha male vibe that combined with his physical bearing and lack of restraint makes for a package that would make most girls squirm a little in spite of themselves. That said, a warning to potential girlfriends: After the initial battle of wills- ending, of course, in submission to him- is over, so is the honeymoon. He’s borderline psychotic and addicted to control, which means that once the chase plays itself out he doesn’t have much to get off on… Except, of course, for fear. He’s a nasty piece of work, plain and simple—Though if he needs you, he’ll take care of you good, it’s just implicit in the employer/employee bargain that he gets his kicks as part of the deal. Looks-wise he has traditionally male features, chiseled in around the jawline and forehead, a slightly over-large nose. While he tends to be slightly less than attentive in his clothing choices, he does tend towards dark colours, trench coat jackets with jeans, buckles in general, spiky ear piercings… Basically a light tough guy look going on to compliment his general threat level. He considers himself a predator, after all, and he has the muscles to go with the look, sinewy and panther-like under the clothes. He has the kind of primal intensity that has drawn a following to him in spite of his other short comings—people are drawn to him, and he does have a very marked sadness that a certain kind of person would try to legitimize as depth, would see and get drawn into the abyss of. Followers rather than friends or confidants, Kepter is reclusive about his past—A topic that rumours say he only speaks of with those he’s about to kill off. Kepter, that said, has a flaw. The games he plays has rules, and he’s as caught in them, or possibly moreso, than anyone that fears him. He seeks fear, to embody it entirely, but the question remains—What, exactly, does Fear dread? And for that matter, why the hell is a bogey man like him such a philanthropist in mortal affairs?

WINTER. Name: Sheila Two-Eyes. Name on human documents: Sheila Winters. Birth name: As of yet unconfirmed. Height: 5'5''. Apparent Age: sixteen. Seeming: Elemental//snowskin. Ethnicity: American, "slight-boned" and pale in a way that usually signifies English or Irish blood. For your perusal: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/One-Eye,_Two-Eyes,_and_Three-Eyes . Description: Sheila’s youth and general frailty are incongruous with her cut-throat decisiveness and the power she wields. In noted contrast to Frieka, she’s just entering into womanhood, but her low presence gives her a since f having been nipped in the bud. Looks-wise she’s slight, with A-cups and no hips to speak of, further undermined by a decidedly plain if still feminine face. She’s very pale of skin with washed out brown-ish locks that hang down to her shoulders. The most noticeable thing about her are her eyes, which are so pale they look almost violet and have a divorced coldness about them which makes her look both old beyond her apparent years and slightly lost. All her dresses are lace shifts, usually worn bare with thriftiness and cut fairly straight without appearing “loose” and grandma-ish. Many are stained, all are beige or pastels that further wash out her colouring. More noteworthy than the dresses themselves is her permanent accessory: A smaller-than-human heart on a thick absurdly heavy chain, that beats occasionally when she fiddles and strokes with it. She seldom speaks but when she does it’s usually imperative that those listening pay strict attention. As for her past, little is known. Summer once launched an initiative to find out what they could, but the spies were found rapidly due to the fact that none of her own court were foolish enough to ask those questions. None of the party returned. What goals lie behind those doll-like eyes are unknown even to those in her court—But the other epitomes share a mutual fear of plans as of yet still under a veneer of rapidly melting ice.

SPRING. Name: Grus the Crane. Name on human documents: Krane Grus. Birth name: As of yet unconfirmed. Height: 6'4''. Apparent age: Somewhat mutable. Hard to tell... When smiling he seems very young, when frowning very old. Likely early thirties. Seeming: Beast//Crane (duh). Ethnicity: Nonspecific white, grew up in South Africa and traveled a lot even before he was absconded with. The first impression one gets of Crane is height. He towers above most and looks faintly stretched when fully extended. Often the second impression one gets is distance—Crane has a way about him that makes people feel like he’s their closest compatriot. He puts himself into the moment, and at any moment in a conversation his full passions are emoted directly at the people he’s conversing with. When he laughs he bubbles over, his mirth making him look like a child. But acquaintances soon notice that he has another kind of distance too… When he stares at the sky that was his prison, wrinkles show at his eyes and around his lips, making him look inestimably old in his contemplation. His joie-de-vivre can be seen in his clothing, which he takes pleasure in devising. Usually he selects dark greys and blacks accented with deep reds and golds and greens for a swathe of colour at the hemline or the button. He’s been called foppish by some, and it isn’t exactly an inapt description—He always has a hat, a jacket, dress pants. In spite of the pointed investment in his appearance, however, he seldom appears feminine. The only androgynous features he possesses are his cheekbones and full lashes—the rest of his face is masculine and even slightly jutting. The bird in him can be seen in his mannerisms—A twist of the head, or a shift of weight onto one leg without realizing it. When his mien drops the effect is accentuated and the onlooker views a strangely meshed face, with birdlike eyes and hair that flows around his head freely like a crest. More normally his hair stays in stylish tufts, slightly blue/grey like the bird he can change into. Unlike the others, he’s relatively open about his past—even enjoys telling it to laughing crowds, often stylizing elements to taper it differently to different audiences. The basic story however, stays the same… but I’m not posting it here since it’ll be more fun to explain it in-rp. XP

Mr. Crane is too open. He must be hiding something. No trustworthy changeling would actually trust some stranger with any more than they had to.

Yes, Gilly has a twisted view on trust in relationships. How did you guess?

I'd say that Elias has some dirt on Frieka, but wont use it since she's got blackmail on his persona. Secondly Elias realy has a nosy habit so hes probably going to go and find out anything he can about Miss Two-eyes, even if that involves talking to her incessantly. Thankfully hes hard to track down, without Frieka's help.

Okay, heh. It'll be interesting to see how the blunt tactic works... Keep in mind she's fairly powerful.
